People love the effects of our ionic foot baths; they find themselves more relaxed and relieved of tension and stress. But what is an ion and how does it work? People go to a foot spa and avail themselves of a detox foot bath but what happens during the ionic foot bath? We’ll try to explain
A negative ion is an atom that has lost or gained one or more electrons causing it to become negatively charged. This negative ion is smaller than a molecule which allows it to be easily absorbed by the body through the process of osmosis. The scientific term ofOsmosis is used to describe the movement of particles through a membrane from a higher concentration to a lower concentration. In this case the higher concentration refers to the negative ions produced by the ion field that is set up by placing the array into the water.
All Detox Foot Baths operate through a process called electrolysis. This is done by generating the proper amount of current in the foot bath water causing the molecules of H2O to divide producing negative ions. Once the negative ions are present in the water, the body absorbs these ions through osmosis
The Ionic Oasis® Foot Spas generate millions of these negative ions during the foot bath session. This causes the body to absorb as many negative ions as possible. You could compare this process to a fully charged battery. When it has been fully charged it can not absorb anymore energy.
All foreign matter such as harmful chemicals, heavy metals, parasites, and others are all positively charged. The negative ion seeks out a positive molecule to attach to. Once attached to these foreign substances the body can readily eliminate them naturally through its own natural processes. This is the reason why a person should only do a foot bath session 2 or 3 times a week. Some of the impurities are transferred through the feet during the detox foot bath session, however, once the body has absorbed such a high amount of negative ions it begins to eliminate these toxins naturally over a period of days.
The array goes into the water with the feet, and the power supply delivers a small amount of direct current into the array. When used for feet, this array in a container of water is the ionic foot bath. The electrical charge causes the molecules of the metals within the array, in combination with the water and other elements in the water, to divide thus generating positive and negative ions. This also produces oxygen and hydrogen to be released into the air. While you are being treated at the foot spa by the ionic foot bath this is part of the chemistry that takes place when you divide the molecule H2O. When experiencing the detox foot bath, you will see the water change color as the electrical current, water, and magnetic field interact with your feet. While the water would change color by itself due to the impurities in the water and the metals in the array, the colors are noticeably different with feet in the foot spa.
How long are the sessions?
The optimum session time for adults is 40 minutes. Children over 6 will benefit from a fifteen minute session.
Can this procedure stop pain?
Yes, some have reported that pain has been relieved with regular footbaths, however the procedure will not cure illnesses.
How often can I take a footbath?
People under age 50 may do them daily; people over 50 may do them every other day.
Why would I want to have footbaths?
Many people have reported increased energy, better sleep, clearer thinking and general improved health after footbaths. Some of our clients have reported relief from joint pain, reduced heavy-metal toxicity and improved gastrointestinal function.
Benefits of ionic foot baths
This list includes reasonable assumptions as long as they are based on experiences and reports they are equally well valued in natural medicine.
The basic health claims are listed as follows:
- ionic foot baths stimulate and rebalance the whole bioenergetic field,
- clear up energetic blockages / unblock the energy flow in the meridians
- facilitate capillary micro-circulation in the organs (including the detoxifying organs)
- improve lymphatic circulation and boost immune functions, thus increase the body’s ability to fight infections, inflammations and cancer
- enhance the functioning of the detoxifying organs such as the liver, kidneys, colon, skin and lungs
- enhance the body’s ability to protect itself from electromagnetic field radiation
- have a general stimulating effect on the whole organism increasing the overall sense of well-being
- ion foot baths improve sleep and memory functions
- decrease recovery time after injuries, surgeries and diseases
- help repairing the tissues, especially the connective tissues; increase flexibility
- enhance nutrient absorption
- help to relieve headaches, arthritis and joint pain
Negative ion foot bath
The statement that ionic foot bath machines generate ions that the body can take in and use for as a general energy source is not widely known. But it really comes down to the same principle as why you would feel tranquil and energetic after taking a long walk on a sandy ocean beach or hanging around a waterfall.
There is a high concentration of negative ions around huge water bodies that are subjected to the disruptive forces of nature. The constant pounding of the waves and the moving air lead to the breakup of water droplets to small, mostly negatively charged particles. Negative ions are found in abundance in nature, mostly around coastal areas and waterfalls.
Something similar is happening within the ionic foot bath’s “array.” The electrical decomposition of water, called electrolysis, literally makes these machines function as negative ion foot bath.
During ionization the majority of ions that have been generated get trapped in the water. An electromagnetic field also builds up and starts to interact with the bioenergetic field of the body. While there is no any particular contact point for this interaction, the reflex zones on the feet are supposed to play a crucial role in field propagation. Through these reflex zones and the associated subtle energy channels (which have an opening on the soles), the whole body and all organs get stimulated.
Having been put in this environment, energy absorption is a natural response of the body. Ions are being accumulated through the large meridians that run from the soles of the feet to the lower abdomen. With a couple of simple mental actions, similar to sweeping some liquid or gaseous substance within the legs, anyone can facilitate this flow.
It may be experienced as local buzzing sensation in the soles of the feet, or initially, when the channels are blocked, burning or cold sensation or mild pain that radiates up the legs.
The fact, that a large portion of this raw ionic energy pool can be taken in from the water to used by the body’s various energetic processes, is fascinating and pretty much unknown.
